Point of Sale

Take cash, card, store credit, or split tender

Pay the full total with one payment method, or divide it between cash, card, and available store credit.

Before you start

  • Dashboard → Point of Sale → MintLGS POS
  • Your account needs permission to take POS payments. Discounts, transaction history, refunds, station settings, and cash-drawer actions may require additional permissions.

What success looks like

  • The completed transaction shows how much was paid by each method and the total received.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Review Current Sale and click Pay. To use store credit, select the customer and check their available balance.
  2. 2Under Pay Remaining, select Cash, Card, or Store Credit for the amount shown. To split the payment instead, open Split Payment / Custom Amount, select Cash, Card, or Credit, enter the amount, and click Add. Repeat for the remaining amount. These entries prepare the payment; they do not complete the sale.
  3. 3Check Payments Added. Remove incorrect entries and add the correct amounts. Once they cover the total, click Complete Transaction. For a card payment, follow the terminal’s prompts and wait for the result.
  4. 4Wait for the completion screen, check the payment breakdown, and print a receipt if needed. Click Start New Transaction only after the sale is complete.

How this area works

Reference information for the choices on this page.

Important details
  • Adding an entry to Payments Added prepares the payment. It does not charge a card; processing starts when you click Complete Transaction.
  • To use store credit, select a customer with an available balance. The quick credit option uses no more than the amount still owed or the customer’s available credit.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

Add Payments to Continue is still shown

Check the remaining amount and Payments Added. Add or correct the payment entries until they cover the total.

The card was charged, but the transaction failed

Click Retry Transaction Only to create the transaction record without charging the card again.

The card was declined

Read the decline message and confirm that the attempt failed before trying another card or payment method.
