Point of Sale

Cancel a pending payment or recover after a charge

Check whether a payment was canceled or charged, and finish saving a transaction after a successful charge.

Before you start

  • Dashboard → Point of Sale → MintLGS POS
  • Your account needs permission to take POS payments. Discounts, transaction history, refunds, station settings, and cash-drawer actions may require additional permissions.

What success looks like

  • A successful retry opens the transaction’s completion screen. A confirmed cancellation ends the payment attempt. If neither result is confirmed, leave the payment unresolved until its status has been checked.

Quick start

Choose the task you need. Each task has its own steps.

Check the payment status

  1. 1Read the payment message in POS and check the terminal’s screen.

Cancel a processing payment

  1. 1To cancel a payment that is still processing, click Cancel once and wait for the result.
  2. 2If MintLGS cannot confirm cancellation, keep the transaction open and wait for an updated status. Requesting cancellation does not guarantee that the card was not charged.

Save a sale after a successful payment

  1. 1If POS reports that the payment succeeded but the transaction could not be created, click Retry Transaction Only. This retries saving the transaction without taking another payment.
  2. 2Wait for the completion screen. If the retry fails, keep the error message and contact a manager or MintLGS support with the amount, time, and order details.
  3. 3Before starting a replacement transaction, check POS History or dashboard Orders for the original sale.

How this area works

Reference information for the choices on this page.

Important details
  • The payment dialog blocks normal closing when a successful card payment still needs its transaction record.
  • A timeout or disconnected browser is not evidence that a payment failed.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

Cancellation could not be confirmed

The terminal may still be processing the payment or may already have charged the card. Check its status and the payment provider’s result before trying again.

Retry Transaction Only keeps failing

The card payment has already succeeded. Give a manager or support the amount, time, order details, and error message so they can trace it. Do not include full card details.
