Point of Sale

Select or create a customer and use store credit

Add a customer to the sale, view their history, and use or issue store credit.

Before you start

  • Dashboard → Point of Sale → MintLGS POS
  • Your account needs permission to take POS payments. Discounts, transaction history, refunds, station settings, and cash-drawer actions may require additional permissions.

What success looks like

  • The completed transaction appears in the customer’s history, along with any store credit used or issued.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Use Search customer and select the matching customer. On a small screen, open Transaction first, or choose the customer in the payment window after clicking Pay.
  2. 2If the customer does not have a record, click Add a new customer or Customer not listed? Add them now.
  3. 3Enter the customer’s name and any phone number or email address you want to save. Click Add and select customer.
  4. 4Check the selected customer and their credit balance. Click Remove Customer if you selected the wrong record.
  5. 5Open Customer History to view purchases and credit activity. Use the date range and All Activity, Purchases Only, Credit Gained, or Credit Used filters to narrow the list.
  6. 6If the loyalty program is available and the customer wants to enroll, click Join or Join loyalty.
  7. 7Select Store Credit when taking payment or paying out a trade-in. After completing the transaction, check the updated credit balance.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

How do I pay with store credit?

In POS, use Search customer to select the customer; on a small screen, open Transaction first. Check their available credit, then click Pay and choose Store Credit under Pay Remaining. If credit does not cover the total, add another payment for the remainder. Review Payments Added, click Complete Transaction once, and wait for the completion screen. Check the updated customer balance.

Store credit is unavailable

Select a customer and check their available balance. Credit already allocated to another tender row reduces the available amount.

A customer has no email

POS supports customer records with optional email. Search by the available identifying details instead of creating a duplicate.

History will not load

Use Retry and check permissions. Do not infer that an empty or failed history request means the balance is zero.
