Point of Sale
Select a card reader, terminal, or Tap to Pay
Select the payment device that should receive card payments from this register.
Before you start
- POS header → payment terminal / reader status
- Your account needs permission to take POS payments. Discounts, transaction history, refunds, station settings, and cash-drawer actions may require additional permissions.
What success looks like
- The POS header shows the selected reader or terminal and whether it is ready to take a payment.
Quick start
Choose the task you need. Each task has its own steps.
Select a payment device
- 1Select the terminal-status control in the POS header.
- 2Choose an online device from the available reader or terminal list. A station or warehouse default may already be selected.
- 3In a supported native mobile app, use Tap to Pay or Bluetooth Readers when those options are offered. Network Readers are listed separately.
- 4Open Terminal help for processor-specific instructions.
- 5For Stripe, confirm the reader is registered for the store. For Square, confirm the terminal is paired from Payment Setup; an idle Powered by Square screen can be normal.
- 6For Clover, choose the connected device and keep its payment screen ready.
Clear the current device selection
- 1Click Deselect reader to clear your current selection. Select the reader you want to use before taking a card payment.
Troubleshooting
Choose the symptom that matches what you see.
The terminal is offline
Check its power and network connection and reopen the device list.
Square shows the wrong login screen
Follow Terminal help: sign out on the terminal, choose Log in with code, and pair using the MintLGS code.
No Processor is shown
Connect and select a POS processor in Payment Setup first.
