Resolve overlapping buylist rules
Add a narrower exception to a rule, or resolve a warning about different offers applying to the same cards.
Before you start
- Buylist → Buylist Rules → Rules
- You need buylist view and create permissions to add exceptions. Changing an existing rule also requires buylist update permission.
What success looks like
- The saved exception defines an offer for the narrower card filters and market-price range you selected.
Quick start
Choose the task you need. Each task has its own steps.
Add a narrower exception
- 1Open Buylist → Buylist Rules → Rules. Find the parent rule and click Add exception.
- 2The new exception starts with that rule’s card filters and market-price range. Enter a Name, narrow at least one filter or price boundary, and set Buy Percentage for the smaller group.
- 3Click Create Rule and wait for the saved exception to appear beneath its parent. If validation fails, keep the editor open and correct the stated restriction.
- 4Reload and check the exception. Use Test an offer for a matching card, condition and payout; the tester uses saved pricing.
Resolve an overlap warning
- 1Open Buylist → Buylist Rules → Rules. Under Different offers apply to the same cards, review both rule names, their percentages, Shared cards and Market value.
- 2Choose the button naming the rule and percentage you want to use, or select Set another offer. This opens an exception editor; it does not save the exception yet.
- 3Review the prefilled overlapping filters and market-price range. Enter a Name and Buy Percentage if needed, then click Create Rule.
- 4Wait for the saved exception, reload the list and check whether the warning is resolved. Use Test an offer for a card in the overlap. Repeat only for other overlaps you intend to resolve.
Troubleshooting
Choose the symptom that matches what you see.
The exception will not save
It must be narrower than its parent by card filters or market-price range. Read the validation message and adjust the relevant selection.
The overlap warning remains
An exception can resolve only the overlap it covers. Review the reported cards and market range, then test the relevant card, condition and payout.
The exception was not saved yet
Choosing a percentage from an overlap warning only prepares the editor. Review it and click Create Rule to save, or Cancel to leave the rules unchanged.
