Purchasing

Link supplier products and compare sources

Link a catalog product to a supplier’s SKU and ordering terms, then compare available suppliers for that product.

Before you start

  • Purchasing → Suppliers → Manage supplier → Products from this supplier; Purchasing → Supplier products
  • Your account needs permission to manage purchasing suppliers to edit product links or choose a preferred source. Starting an order requires permission to create purchase orders.

What success looks like

  • The product’s supplier link is saved and appears in Supplier products for comparison and ordering.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Open a supplier’s Products from this supplier tab and click Link product.
  2. 2Search Catalog product by name, SKU, or UPC, then select the exact product or option.
  3. 3Enter the Supplier SKU, Supplier description, Case pack, Minimum qty, Lead time days, Default unit cost, and Currency.
  4. 4Select Preferred source if this should be the preferred supplier for the product. Leave Active enabled if the link should be available, then click Save mapping.
  5. 5To update the link, find it in the supplier’s product list and reopen it. Deactivate it if you no longer want to use that source.
  6. 6Open Supplier products and search by product or distributor SKU to compare suppliers, costs, terms, and incoming stock.
  7. 7Click Make preferred to change the preferred supplier, or use the order action to start a purchase order from a listed source.
