Purchasing

Create or edit a purchase order draft

Choose a supplier and receiving location, then add products, quantities, costs, and notes.

Before you start

  • Purchasing → Purchase orders → New purchase order
  • Your account needs permission to create purchase orders for new orders or edit purchasing for existing ones. Product changes inside the editor require the corresponding product permissions.

What success looks like

  • The draft saves the requested products, quantities, costs, supplier, and receiving location.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Start a new purchase order, or open an editable order and select its edit action.
  2. 2Select the Supplier and Destination. Enter a Purchase order number, or leave it blank for automatic numbering. Add an Expected arrival and Distributor reference if available.
  3. 3Expand Additional costs and internal notes to enter charges, Currency, and Internal notes.
  4. 4Search by product name, SKU, UPC, or variant and add the correct product. Select the supplier first so MintLGS can use its product links.
  5. 5Review each line’s Distributor SKU, Quantity, Unit cost, pack size, and minimum quantity. Click Add new product if the catalog does not contain the product yet.
  6. 6To change the order of the lines, drag them or use Move up and Move down. If an item should not be on the order, click Remove line for that item.
  7. 7Click Save draft or Save changes, then reopen the order to check its supplier, destination, items, and totals.

How this area works

Reference information for the choices on this page.

Important details
  • Changing the distributor asks you to clear the current items because their SKUs, pack sizes, minimums, and costs belong to the previous distributor.
  • Saving a draft does not add inventory or send the purchase order to the supplier.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

Product search is disabled

Choose a distributor first.

Changing supplier removed the lines

The confirmation explicitly clears source-specific lines. Add them again using the new distributor’s information.

An edited product does not match the order line

Review the exact product or option and its supplier mapping before saving the order.
