Create or edit products that share one UPC
Group independent products under one shared barcode so POS can ask staff which product the customer is buying.
Before you start
- Dashboard → Inventory → Products
- Your account needs permission to view products. Creating, updating, and deleting them require the corresponding product permissions.
What success looks like
- Scanning the active shared UPC opens a product picker. The chosen product uses its own price and inventory.
Quick start
The shortest path through this area.
- 1Open Products and select a product type and warehouse. Choose Add Product → Master UPC product, or open an existing shared-code group.
- 2Enter Master UPC name and Shared UPC or barcode. Expand the two blank products and enter each Product Name, Sell Price and Stock. Use Add Product for more choices. Each product keeps its own price and stock; this editor uses the shared barcode for the group.
- 3Keep Use this shared code at checkout selected to use the code in POS. Review Release Schedule and Sales Channels, then click Create or Update. Reopen the group to check the saved products, prices and stock. Review any barcode reassignment before confirming it.
- 4In Storefront Options, choose Show as one product with choices or Show each product separately. For grouped choices, set Choice style, Choice label, Default product and Product order. Click Create or Update to save. You can choose a named Default product before the first save.
- 5At POS, scan the active shared code and choose the actual product from the picker. Its own price and stock are used. Cancel scan closes the picker without adding an item.
- 6Cancel closes the editor without saving ordinary form changes. A group must keep at least two products.
Troubleshooting

The checkout note does not appear at POS
The Checkout note is saved in the editor but is not shown in the POS product picker. Use clear product names so staff can choose the correct item.
I cannot remove a product from a two-product group
A Master UPC group must keep at least two products. Add a replacement before removing a product from a two-product group.
Scanning does not open the picker
Check Use this shared code at checkout, the exact barcode, and whether the group was saved successfully.
