Users & Staff

Edit, deactivate, or reactivate a staff account

Update a staff member’s details, replace their password, change their roles, or turn their access on or off.

Before you start

  • Settings → Users & Staff
  • Your account needs Users & Staff: View permission to open the staff list. Inviting, editing, deactivating, assigning roles, and managing roles each require the corresponding permission.

What success looks like

  • The staff account shows its updated details and roles. Its active status determines whether it can access the store.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Search Staff Members by name or email. Use All, Active, or Inactive to find the account, then open its editor.
  2. 2For profile or password edits, update Full Name, Email, or New Password, then click Save Changes. Leave New Password blank to keep it; a replacement needs at least 12 characters.
  3. 3For access changes, select a role under Roles and click Add, or use a role’s remove control. To stop sign-in, click Deactivate User and Confirm Deactivate; to restore access, click Reactivate User.
  4. 4Reopen the account and check its saved details, roles, and status.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

An action is unavailable

Check the specific Edit, Deactivate, or Assign roles permission and any account-protection message.

A role was changed but the screen still looks old

Have the staff member refresh or sign in again and check their effective access.
