Payment Setup

Register, configure, and test a receipt printer

Register a printer, choose its receipt settings, and print a sample before assigning it to a station.

Before you start

  • Sales → Payment Setup → POS setup → Printers & drawers
  • Your account needs Payments: Manage setup permission to open and configure Payment Setup. Viewing cash-drawer activity requires Payments: View status.
  • Printer registration requires an available, paired Hardware Connector. If Connector setup is unavailable, use the browser print and hardware controls in POS.

What success looks like

  • The printer’s settings and station assignment are saved. A successful sample receipt confirms that the selected settings work with the printer.

Quick start

Choose the task you need. Each task has its own steps.

Set up and test a receipt printer

  1. 1Select the station and confirm its connector is connected.
  2. 2Under devices available on this computer, identify the printer and choose Register.
  3. 3Open Configure. Choose the printing method: operating-system driver or raw thermal commands, as supported by the printer.
  4. 4Choose receipt width, and for raw printing set command language, character profile, cut mode, and feed lines.
  5. 5If a cash drawer is connected through this printer, enable that relationship in printer setup.
  6. 6Click Save printer setup, then Print sample receipt. Check the printed text, width, and cutting before using it for receipts.
  7. 7Choose Use for receipts or select the printer in the station assignment.

Unregister a receipt printer

  1. 1To remove a printer registration, open Payment Setup → POS setup → Printers & drawers and select the station. If the printer is assigned for receipts, select No receipt printer assigned first. With the Connector connected, find the unassigned printer and choose Unregister. Read any message about a linked drawer before continuing.

Troubleshooting

The printer is not ready
