Add, change, or remove an item discount
Discount an item in the current sale without changing its regular inventory price.
Before you start
- Dashboard → Point of Sale → MintLGS POS
- Your account needs permission to apply manual discounts.
What success looks like
- The item shows its discount, and the cart total updates to include it.
Quick start
The shortest path through this area.
- 1Open the single or product line from Current Sale. On a small screen, open Cart & Checkout first. In Discount, choose Add or Edit.
- 2Choose Percentage or Dollar amount and enter a positive value with no more than two decimal places. Percentage cannot exceed 100. Enter a Reason of at least 3 characters, then click Apply.
- 3Check the discount and Line Total, then click Done to return to the cart. To remove the discount before payment, reopen the item, choose Edit, then Remove discount. Wait for the cart totals to refresh.
- 4Check the final total before completing the transaction.
Troubleshooting
Choose the symptom that matches what you see.
The discount control is unavailable
Check manual-discount permission and whether you opened a sale item rather than a trade-in row.
The amount is rejected
Check that it is positive, has at most two decimal places, and does not exceed 100 when using Percentage. Add the required reason.
