Move inventory and delete a location
Move a location’s stock to another warehouse and delete the old location. You can also download its singles inventory list.
Before you start
- Dashboard → Inventory → Warehouses
- Your account needs permission to delete warehouses. Moving stock also requires warehouse transfer permission. Creating a new destination requires permission to create warehouses.
What success looks like
- The old location is removed after the required stock transfer. Its inventory appears in the destination warehouse.
Quick start
The shortest path through this area.
- 1Open the location and click Delete Location.
- 2If Inventory must be moved before deletion appears, review the stock to move. Download inventory CSV saves a list of singles only. Products are not included, so this file is not a complete backup of the location.
- 3Select an existing destination, or click + Create new warehouse and enter its name.
- 4For an existing destination, click Move & Delete. For a new one, click Create & Move and complete any remaining deletion confirmation.
- 5For an empty location, review Delete this location? and click Yes, Delete Location.
- 6Check that the old location has been removed and that the destination contains the moved stock.
Troubleshooting
Choose the symptom that matches what you see.
The move or deletion reports an error
Inspect both locations before repeating the operation. A failed final deletion does not prove the stock move failed. Keep the error message for support.
There is no destination
Create a destination from the dialog if your permissions allow it, or create one in Warehouses first.
