Events

Create, edit, or delete event templates

Save event details you want to reuse when creating new events. When editing a template, choose explicitly whether to update linked events too.

Before you start

  • Content → Events → Event Settings → Event Templates
  • You need Events: Edit/manage permission.

What success looks like

  • The template is available for creating events. Existing linked events change only if you choose to update them.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Open Event Settings → Event Templates. Enter Template Name and the event defaults you want to reuse.
  2. 2Set the date-independent details, including the game, casual or sanctioned play, location, attendance limit, entry fee, storefront signup setting, and any registration form or questions.
  3. 3Click Add Template and check it appears in the saved list. Choose Create from template when creating a single event or a repeating series.
  4. 4To edit a template, click Edit, change its defaults, and click Save Changes. If Update Linked Events? appears, review the number of linked scheduled events. Choose Save Template Only, Update Events, or Cancel.
  5. 5When updating linked events, the confirmation warns that entry fee changes do not apply to events with registrations. Reopen the affected events to check their saved details.
  6. 6To remove an unused template, click Delete and confirm, or Cancel to keep it. Wait for the saved list to change before leaving. If a message appears, read it before continuing.

How this area works

Reference information for the choices on this page.

Important details
  • Enter sanctioned signup details on each event after creating it. Those details belong to the individual event, not the reusable template.
  • Linked updates include events still marked Scheduled, even if their date has passed. They do not update completed or cancelled events. Check the saved event details before updating a template.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

How do I update linked events?

Adding a new template does not change existing events. To edit a saved template, open Event Settings → Event Templates, click Edit, change its defaults, and click Save Changes. If Update Linked Events? appears, review the number of linked scheduled events and choose Update Events. Save Template Only changes the template without updating those events; Cancel stops the edit. Entry fee changes do not apply to events with registrations. Reopen the affected events to check the saved result.

An existing event did not change

Saving the template alone does not update linked events. Open the event to check its details, or review the Update Events option when editing the template.

The template did not save

Read the message and correct the details. Your edits stay in place so you can try again. If MintLGS cannot check linked events, it stops before saving the template. If it cannot confirm a save or deletion, reopen Event Templates and check the saved list before repeating it. Check linked events too if you chose Update Events.

Events updated but the template did not save

If the message confirms that linked events were updated, check those events and the saved template. Use Save Template Only to retry the template save if needed. Do not repeat Update Events just to save the template. If the result is unclear, contact support before repeating the update.
