Events

Create or edit an event

Create an event from scratch or a template. Set its dates, location, capacity, entry fee, and registration requirements, then choose whether customers can sign up on the storefront.

Before you start

  • Content → Events
  • You need Events: View permission to open events. Creating, editing, or canceling events requires the corresponding permission. Refunding a paid registration also requires Issue refunds.

What success looks like

  • The event appears with its saved dates, capacity, registration requirements, and storefront availability.

Quick start

The shortest path through this area.

  1. 1Open Create Event, choose Create Event from the menu, then choose Create from scratch or Create from template.
  2. 2Enter Event Name and Description. Choose the TCG if applicable, sanctioned or casual play, Event Type, and Format.
  3. 3Set Date & Time. For an event lasting more than one day, enable the multi-day option and enter Start Date & Time and End Date & Time.
  4. 4Choose a saved Location, or select Other and enter the details. If no locations have been saved, type the location directly. Set Max Attendees, Entry Fee, and Prize Pool.
  5. 5Choose whether to Allow signup on the storefront. To use registration questions, first save a form under Event Settings → Registration Forms. Then reopen the event editor, select a Registration Form, and enter a Confirmation Message.
  6. 6With at least one registration form saved, the editor also shows Custom Fields and, for sanctioned play, Sanctioned Play Signup Details. Add any event-specific questions and enter this event’s signup code, link, or instructions.
  7. 7Click Create Event or Save Changes. Read any warning that the event will be hidden before confirming.
  8. 8Open the saved event and check its details. If it should be public, check it on the storefront as well.

How this area works

Reference information for the choices on this page.

Fields and options
  • Allow signup on the storefront: Controls online registration. Turning it off can leave an otherwise public event visible in the calendar while preventing customers from signing up online.
  • Sanctioned Play Signup Details: Provide the signup information required for this specific event. A sanctioned event stays hidden if required details are missing.
  • Custom fields: Choose the field type and label, whether an answer is required, and the options for dropdown or checkbox fields.

Troubleshooting

Choose the symptom that matches what you see.

A sanctioned event is hidden

Open the event, enter its own signup details, and save. A template cannot supply a single signup code for every event created from it.

My location is not listed

Type the location directly if no saved locations exist. Otherwise select Other, or add a reusable location under Event Settings.
