Set a product release date, Coming Soon visibility, or fulfillment hold
Set a product release date, show it as Coming Soon, or hold fulfillment until it releases. Save the schedule and check the device time zone; setting dates does not create a presale.
Before you start
- Dashboard → Inventory → Products
- Your account needs permission to view products. Creating, updating, and deleting them require the corresponding product permissions.
What success looks like
- The product saves its release date, Coming Soon setting, fulfillment hold, and any separate dates for individual options.
Quick start
The shortest path through this area.
- 1Open Products, choose the product type and warehouse, then open the product and select Release Schedule. Enable Set a future release date and enter Release date and time. Dates use the time zone shown for your device.
- 2Optionally enter Show as Coming Soon before the release date. This shows the product early without enabling ordinary purchases. Keep Do not fulfill presale orders before release selected if shipping or pickup completion must wait.
- 3Click Create or Update, then reopen the product to check the saved dates and hold. Cancel discards unsaved changes. A release schedule alone does not set up a presale.
- 4For a variable product, use Different dates for product options to override an option. For a Master UPC group, set each product's date in its own Release Schedule controls. Click Create or Update to save those changes.
- 5To stop using the schedule, clear Set a future release date and click Update. The entered dates are retained, but the standard product's disabled schedule no longer restricts release.
- 6Use Scheduled Products or Presale Items to find relevant products. To take orders early, save the product and use Open Presales to configure selling in Presale & Discounts.
Troubleshooting
Choose the symptom that matches what you see.
How do I turn off the release schedule?
Open Release Schedule, clear Set a future release date and click Update. The entered dates are retained, but the standard product's disabled schedule no longer restricts release. Reopen the product to confirm the switch is off.
Customers can see the product but cannot add it
A Coming Soon product is visible before release but is not yet purchasable through that visibility setting. Check the release time and presale configuration.
Fulfillment is blocked
Read the product’s release hold. Orders containing held presale items cannot complete the blocked fulfillment action before the release time.
