1.Purpose and license
MintLGS grants the Customer a limited, non-exclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to install and use the Connector on computers used for authorized MintLGS checkout stations. It may be used only with MintLGS for lawful store operations while the Customer is authorized to use the service.
2.What the Connector does
The Connector discovers installed printer queues and supported local drawer connections, receives authenticated hardware jobs from MintLGS, and sends the selected job to hardware registered and assigned to a checkout station. It is not a payment processor and does not replace drivers, payment-terminal software, electrical controls, staff permissions, cash procedures, or physical safety measures.
3.Customer responsibilities
- Install it only on computers and networks the Customer controls or may administer.
- Use a supported, security-updated operating system and compatible manufacturer drivers, firmware, cables, adapters, voltage, and power supplies.
- Physically confirm the correct printer or drawer before assigning or testing it.
- Place drawers so opening cannot injure a person, damage property, block an exit, or expose cash improperly.
- Limit setup, manual drawer opening, refunds, and cash access to authorized staff.
- Confirm the first physical print, cut, and drawer action after setup or any hardware or driver change.
- Follow receipt, tax, privacy, accessibility, employment, payment, and cash-handling law.
4.Drawer and cable safety
Do not connect a telephone, network device, unsupported serial device, or unrelated equipment to a printer's drawer port. An RJ11/RJ12-style plug does not establish electrical or protocol compatibility. Use the manufacturer-approved port, adapter, voltage, wiring, and command profile.
The Connector refuses arbitrary shell commands, arbitrary drawer byte sequences, unassigned devices, and unsupported job types. Do not bypass those controls.
5.Important operating limits
A print queue accepting a job does not prove that paper was present, a receipt physically printed, the cutter completed, or the content was readable. Many printer-driven drawers cannot report a reliable open or closed state. MintLGS does not infer a physical state the hardware cannot provide.
MintLGS does not warrant compatibility with every printer, drawer, adapter, driver, operating system, firmware, or network.
6.Updates and support
MintLGS may provide security, compatibility, and reliability updates. The Customer must install required updates within a reasonable period, and a release may stop working if it becomes unsafe or incompatible. MintLGS supports the Connector through its support system; manufacturers remain responsible for their hardware and operating systems.
7.Data and privacy
The Connector stores a station identifier, release information, local device information, limited diagnostics, and an operating-system-protected pairing credential. It receives receipt information needed for a print request but does not intentionally place receipt content in diagnostics. Read the Connector Privacy Notice.
8.Restrictions
The Connector may not be used to access another Customer's account or hardware, disable security or update verification, introduce malicious code, disrupt MintLGS, or support unlawful surveillance, fraud, theft, or unauthorized cash access. It may not be sold, rented, distributed, sublicensed, or offered as a separate service without written permission.
9.Third-party software
The Connector includes third-party software subject to the licenses in the Third-Party Notices bundled with each installer. Those licenses do not expand the rights granted in MintLGS' own Connector software.
10.Disclaimer and liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE CONNECTOR IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The liability limits in the MintLGS Terms apply. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MintLGS is not liable for cash loss, incompatible hardware, incorrect installation, unauthorized use, printer or drawer damage, a failure to confirm a physical action, or indirect or consequential damages.
11.Termination and uninstall
The license ends when authorization to use MintLGS ends or these terms are violated. Disconnect the computer from Payment Setup or the Connector tray before uninstalling when possible. Uninstalling removes local Connector data and its startup entry but may leave historical hardware, transaction, and cash-audit records under the Customer's normal retention rules.
12.Contact
Questions and support requests should be submitted through the MintLGS support system.
